Is a low offer a good idea?

There are many considerations involved in the sellers motivation to accept a lower offer. Consider the location of the home, the repairs needed in the home and the time the home has been on the market before making an offer. Some sellers are insulted by low offers and won’t even respond while others need to sell the property and will entertain all offers. Your agent should provide you with a CMA on the property and you can base your offer on market conditions and the condition of the home. If you are not under time requirements for the purchase of your next home, a lower offer may be worth the chance of missing out on the deal. The problem comes when you fall in love with a house, a low ball offer may ruin your chances of getting the home.
