EXCITING NEWS: $8,000 first-time homebuyer federal tax credit was extended!
The first-time homebuyer federal tax credit was just extended through April 30, 2010! The tax credit was also expanded for current homeowners who are purchasing a replacement primary residence. These current homeowners must have lived in their primary residences for five consecutive years out of the last eight years. First-time homebuyers may be eligible for a federal tax credit of up to $8,000 while existing homeowners may be eligible for the federal tax credit of up to $6,500.
